Lauren Apt, MBA

Vice President of Operations

Lauren Apt has spent most of her career working for nonprofits in various capacities. After getting her start at a small healthcare foundation she quickly discovered a passion for helping others in her community. Over the last 15 years, Lauren has developed a comprehensive portfolio of experience in development which includes moves management, database operations, major gift fundraising, event planning, annual appeal, and stewardship. Lauren specializes in analyzing and streamlining foundation operations, implementing best practices, strategizing database use, providing database management and training, and facilitating prospect management and research.

Prior to consulting, Lauren’s background includes developing and running a prospect management and research division, creating and managing extensive reporting of all development activities, and implementing and integrating a variety of supporting databases. Lauren has extensive experience in 30+ robust database systems including CRMs, prospect research platforms, event management, reporting tools, fundraising platforms and more. She has supported foundation teams with on-site training and custom-built tools to facilitate critical daily functions and address emerging needs. Most recently, Lauren led the team responsible for data and prospect management at a large multi-hospital healthcare system. She has helped operationalize multiple capital campaigns, led database conversions, built and ran moves management and grateful patient reporting, and developed coding structures that enabled teams to effectively track and analyze their fundraising activities. Lauren strongly believes in a flexible approach and enjoys coming up with creative solutions to meet each organization’s requests.

Lauren was born and raised in the Rochester area and now lives in Buffalo with her three (yes, three!) dogs where they enjoy walks at the lake every day. She is a runner and loves to have as much art, music, books, and travel in her life as she possibly can. Lauren received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and English Literature from Nazareth College and earned her MBA from RIT.
