CHRIS JORDAN
Sr. Advisor, Advancement
Chris Jordan is an accomplished advancement leader offering extensive knowledge and expertise in development, capital campaigns, strategic planning, and implementation of new fundraising practices to promote and achieve institutional growth.
Having grown up in Albany, NY, Chris began his career in non-profits as an intern at St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation. That formative experience sparked a deep passion for helping others and led to a full-time job as a Development Associate, managing their Annual Fund, while supporting Special Events and their $35M Capital Campaign.
After meeting his now wife and moving to Rochester, NY, Chris began a decade long career at Rochester Regional Health where he served in a variety of progressive roles. During that time, Chris gained invaluable experience supporting three capital campaigns, including a $300M comprehensive campaign, Because Care Matters. In 2020, Chris and his family moved to Buffalo, NY, his wife’s hometown, to be closer to family and friends while raising their three kids.
A year later, Chris joined Kaleida Health Foundation as Director of Development where he was responsible for building a small major gift team. In his first year, Chris directed all fundraising initiatives, managed major and principal gift portfolios and aligned philanthropic priorities with clinical and organization goal. The team overachieved their $3M goal – and more importantly, began strengthening relationships with donors and internal stakeholders to maximize engagement.
As the Kaleida Foundation and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundations began to merge under shared leadership, Chris was tasked with creating a Grateful Patient and Family Philanthropy Program that spanned both Foundations. Knowing he couldn’t do it alone, Chris achieved corporate buy-in to form a Grateful Patient Council consisting of system CMO’s, CNO’s, Compliance, IT and Operations to execute on a detailed HIPAA compliant business plan. In the first three quarters of 2025, they saw a 46% increase in Grateful Patient and Family gifts and a 379% increase in total dollars.
At Empreinte Consulting, Chris serves as Senior Advisor, Advancement, partnering with clients to build sustainable fundraising models, implement capital campaigns, grow donor engagement, and align culture and strategy to elevate results.
Chris lives in East Amherst, NY, with his wife Betsy and their three children. In his free time, Chris enjoys the great outdoors, traveling, working on house projects, his kids’ sports, and the Buffalo Bills!
